"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright..."

So started "Creature Feature" every Saturday night at 11:30 in Chicago back in the late 60's. "Screaming Yellow Theater" was on Friday nights and after I moved to Portland, OR in 1971, they were replaced by the "Sinister Cinema" double feature hosted by Victor Ives each Saturday night.

Thus began a lifelong passion for horror movies that continues to this day, and indeed, has been re-fortified with the advent of dvd's. When I used to comb through the back pages of Famous Monsters of Filmland, Eerie and Creepy, it seemed like some far-off fantasy to own the 8mm copies of classic horror films that were offered. I remember many being in the range of $80-100. I can now go online to amazon.com, or walk into almost any store that sells dvd's and get a bigger selection of horror flicks than I ever dreamed of for $6-30 each. The only problem now is having the time to watch them all!

The purpose of this site is to promote good (and bad) horror and other movies along with horror in print, and horror in the arts. I also cover sci-fi, exploitation, noir, drama, comedies and B movies, but the primary purpose is to cover monsters, horror, and things that go bump in the night on screen and in print.
