31 Jan 04 - Boobs, breasts, knockers, melons, ta-tas, tits... No matter what you call them, most men like seeing them in their movies. At least in their B Movies... Wehorror.com along with RogueReviewers.com are proud to present: The B Movies Boobies Roundtable!

31 Jan 04 - "Why on earth would anyone want to see a bad movie? I have no desire to see one" - My wife.

01 Oct 03 - Here is a link to my dvd collection which I am proud to present to you. I use the program DVD Profiler to keep track of and catalogue all of my dvd's and they have a nifty online feature that allows others to access your collection. http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=Rastacat1.

10 Sep 03 - Happy birthday to webhorror, happy birthday to webhorror... This is my one year anniversary. Thanks bunches to all who come to my site and support horror, B, sci-fi and all of the related genres of film that are represented here.

31 Aug 03 - Two news items: First, the Rogue Reviewers are welcoming yet another new member to our growing ranks of reviewers as we set out on our plan to conquor the world... Wait you should disregard the second part of that last sentence and just welcome Vice Central to our group of B, horror, sci-fi and other related genre films reviewers. The second bit of news is on the passing of Charles Bronson on 30 Aug 03 in Los Angeles. R.I.P. Chuck.

29 Aug 03 - I would like to give a big welcome to the newest member of the Rogue Reviewers: Varied Celluloid.com!

25 Aug 03 - Well it certainly is a small world after all. Just over a month in a new state at a new job and I find a fan of the Rogues Reviewers. And not just any fan, but a fellow B movie junkie and also writer of reviews. Look for Kenner at geocities and www.reelcriticism.com/ziggyrealm. It's a small, small world.

28 Jul 03 - The Rogue Reviewers (www.roguereviewers.com) are doing it again: Another roundtable review for the month of August and this time it is going to be "Before They Were Stars". Be on the lookout around the 15th of the month for the reviews to start appearing at a Rogue Reviewers website near you.

14 July 03 - Well all, what a month it has been. I have moved from Massachusetts to Minnesota, gotten laid off from my job of almost 5 years (albiet temporarily), started another job as the store manager of a Movie Gallery video store, went on vacation for two weeks including a week of camping for my honeymoon... Yes, I said honeymoon. I was married on July 4th in Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Oh yeah, I also turned 40 last month. So, with all of that going on I have not been able to get to updates or new reviews. But don't fret, in the next week or so I will have new releases updated and at least one new review.

06 May 03 - The Indian Jones trilogy of movies, The Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, will be released on DVD as a 4 disk set on 4 November, 2003. The fourth disk will be loaded with goodies and the release is from Paramount and Lucasfilms. Paramount are the people who put together the wonderful Godfather trilogy boxset a couple years ago, so this should be good. The retail price is currently looking to be around $49.95.

05 May 03 - In case you didn't already know, the Rogue Reviewers finished the "Night of the Living Rogues" Zombiefest on grand style with only a minimum of casualties. To read more on who survived and who didn't, go to http://www.geocities.com/jrgdawg/rogueroundtables.html. Our June Rogue roundtable is going to be "Before they were stars". Stay tuned for more information!

07 Mar 03 - DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT purchase anything from half.com or half.ebay.com (same company). I ordered something in December, 2002 from a "reputable" company, directtoyou, off of the half.ebay.com website. It was for the dvd Lisa and the Devil/House of Exorcism. A couple weeks later I received a VHS tape of House of Exorcism. I sent an email to the company telling them about the error and they replied with a form letter with instructions for sending it back. I sent it back in the first week of January and have heard nothing from the company. I have sent them and half.com at least a dozen emails and from the company I get no response, and from half.com I get only an acknowledgment that my email was received. The company still has themselves listed as a seller of the DVD and I pointed this out to half.com and I have not gotten a response from them. So I am now forced to start chargeback proceedings through my bank. What a hassle! I have noticed that directtoyou has about a 9 1/2% negative feedback rate, mostly for the same problem I have had. This seems to be part of their business practice (which has also been pointed out to half.com several times). So the moral of this rant is do not be lulled into a false sense of security just because a seller has a large number of feedbacks, and pay attention to the negative feedbacks. I realize that any seller will get a negative now and again, but 1057 out of 11,066 in the last 6 months is unacceptable.

28 Feb 03 - You constantly learn something new. A new release of Faceless Monster (aka Nightmare Castle) starring Barbara Steele and Paul Müller came out a few days ago. It is released by Retromedia and is listed as between 100 and 101 minutes long. I have a cheap version on both VHS and dvd and it is listed as 101 minutes long on the DVD and 80 minutes on the video. But the dvd is actually only 79 minutes and 25 seconds long. I did not forward the VHS to the end to see the length because I know the answer will be: approx. 80 minutes long! My point is that you cannot go by what the box says for a movie length, especially where an older foreign movie is concerned that had multiple versions for rating purposes. I had previously listed the lenght of Nightmare Castle in my review as 101 minutes because that is what the box said, so I appologize for the incorrect information. My only consolation is that Faceless Monster is now out in a full, uncut and letterboxed edition! I can't wait to go pick it up.

05 Feb 03 - There is a new game coming out this week called "I was an Atomic Mutant" by Canopy Games and Value Soft. I downlaoded the demo at http://www.atomicmutant.com/5.html. It is pretty fun, and certainly not overly difficult. I managed to get through the demo level on the third try and got to the end on every subsequent attempt. But the good part is that the retail price is only $19.99. I will probably have to pick it up so I can try my hand at the "Wrath of the She Beast" level.

29 Jan 03 - Coming soon to a website near you: Godzilla vs the Rogue Reviewers!

27 Jan 03 - I am reaching out and have joined a small, but enthusiastic, group of fellow horror/exploitation film geeks on their web consortium called Rogue Reviewers. There are a bunch of really cool and interesting websites there so check it out.

22 Jan 03 - I see that Anchor Bay is releasing yet another edition of Army of Darkness entitled Army of Darkness: Boomstick Edition on March 4th. I believe this will be the 4th dvd version of this film. It is a 2 disk set that includes the original and the directors cut, deleted scenes, a commentary with star Bruce Campbell, writer/director Sam Raimi and co-writer Ivan Raimi. There are also storyboards, a new documentary and 15 minutes of additional footage. Okay, so I will probably have to get it... There is also a new Sherlock Holmes release call Murder by Decree that is coming out on January 21st. It has to do with Jack the Ripper and Rex Reed called it "The best Sherlock Holmes movie ever made". Sounds interesting. Also The Ring starring Naomi Watts is coming out on March 4th. I saw it in the theater and loved it. Can't wait to see what they do with the dvd.

16 Jan 03 - I finished a review for the Hammer film, The Lost Continent last night. My goal is to finish reviews in the near future for all of the Hammer dvd's I own, which is now up to 17 titles. They are in the order of purchase: The Reptile (1966), The Lost Continent (1968), The Plague of the Zombies (1966), Quatermass and the Pit (1967), The Devil Rides Out (1968), Blood From the Mummy's Tomb (1971), Scars of Dracula (1970), Demons of the Mind (1972), Lust for a Vampire (1971), The Witches (1966), Prehistoric Women (1966), Kiss of the Vampire (1963), Horror of Dracula (1958), To The Devil, A Daughter (1976), The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958), Viking Queen (1966), Hound of the Baskervilles (1959). Four down and only thirteen to go! Of course there are three or 4 more on my list that I would like to own...

11 Jan 03 - I saw Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers today. I thought it was just as good as The Fellowship of the Ring and I can't say enough good things about it. I can't wait for the third installment.

08 Jan 03 - Received the Pacific Digital U-30115 Internal 16X DVD-ROM from amazon today. It installed easily enough and started playing a movie when I put a disk in and clicked play. Cool.

06 Jan 03 - I am getting a new DVD player for my computer. It is a Pacific Digital U-30115 Internal 16X DVD-ROM through amazon.com. It receives very high ratings and the price is reasonable enough. I am also getting a new scanner, a Canon CanoScan D1250U2 Flatbed Scanner through amazon (I received a gift certificate for Christmas!) I also either received or purchased over the holidays: Evil Dead: Book of the Dead (groovy!); Fight Club (2 disk set); Hound of the Baskervilles (1959); The Bloodstained Shadow; Bad Girls Go to Hell/Another Day Another Man (somethingweird.com); Scarlet Diva; JFK (directors cut 2 disk set); Necronomicon 3 (Noir publishing); Fragments of Fear (Creation Books); If Chins Could Kill (Bruce Campbell - autographed!, - www.stmartins.com). Not a bad haul of horror film related loot.....

13 Dec 02 - I was looking around at some dvd's at a local retailer and happened across Gone With the Wind. This is considered one of the best movies of all time and one of the highest grossing in adjusted dollars. Warner Brothers released it in their usual "snap case" instead of the much preferred "keep case". The movie also has no extras with it but is at least released in what is considered (according to other movie review sites) a good print and good sound. Warner Brothers does offer a "limited edition box set" but all this has are copies of lobby cards and photographs. There is still no commentary or documentary or anything like that.

I also happened to notice Goodfellas which is also released by Warner Brothers in a snap case and had no extras. Then there was Full Metal Jacket. Same thing. No extras and a snap case. So one of the biggets studios in Hollywood is putting out an inferior product. It is just cheap and annoying.

10 Oct 02 - Last week I purchased Horror of Dracula, a highly anticipated Warner Brothers dvd release, along with a couple of other movies. Horror of Dracula was $14.99 and the other movies, Return of the Living Dead and Masque of the Red Death/Premature Burial are MGM releases and were $9.99 each. For my extra $5 with Dracula, I got a cheap case, no commentary and not much for extras. With the Return of the Living Dead I get a commentary by writer/director Dan O'Bannon along with a documentery on the special effects and it comes in a keep case. And with Masque/Premature I get two interviews with Roger Corman and it also comes in a keep case. I wish I could boycott WB but some releases you just have to have, and Horror of Dracula is one that I had to have. Many people I'm sure feel the same way about Gone With the Wind.
